Overview
Encounter Church of Atlanta embarked on a journey to elevate the aesthetic appeal, ecological integrity, and social functionality of its main campus through landscape improvements. As part of Phase I of the proposal, our design aimed to create a master plan that integrated innovative landscaping strategies to enhance the site's beauty, sustainability, and communal spaces. Renderings were developed to visualize the transformative potential of the proposed improvements.
Key Features
Aesthetic Enhancement: The landscape improvements were conceptualized to enhance the visual allure of the campus, incorporating elements such as lush greenery, vibrant floral displays, and thoughtfully curated hardscape features to create a welcoming and visually captivating environment.
Ecological Considerations: Our proposal prioritized ecological stewardship by integrating native plant species, implementing sustainable irrigation systems, and incorporating features to promote biodiversity and habitat restoration, fostering a harmonious relationship between the built environment and nature.
Social Interaction: The design emphasized the creation of outdoor spaces that encourage social interaction and community engagement. Gathering areas, seating alcoves, and pedestrian-friendly pathways were strategically integrated to promote informal gatherings, relaxation, and fellowship among congregants and visitors.
Tactical Urbanism: Embracing the principles of tactical urbanism, the proposal leveraged the exterior square footage and programmatic features of the site to create dynamic, multi-functional spaces that adapt to the evolving needs and activities of the community, fostering a sense of ownership and empowerment among users.
